A pixel-art tree swaying in the wind, made with Pixel Wind

Drop a PNG sprite, get a seamless wind loop.
Your pixels, your palette, frame 1 untouched. It runs right here: hit Run tool above. Nothing leaves your browser.

Why it doesn't shimmer

Most wind effects rotate your sprite. Rotation resamples every pixel, so the leaves boil and new in-between colours show up. Pixel Wind moves whole leaf clumps by whole pixels instead. It just... sways.

Rotation sway on the left, Pixel Wind on the right

Left: typical rotation sway · 48,406 px change per loop
Right: Pixel Wind · 7,732 px change per loop (about 6× calmer)

Checked on every export

  • Frame 1 is byte-identical to your sprite
  • No colours or transparency levels that aren't in your sprite
  • Everything below the pin line (the trunk) never moves
  • At most 1–3 px sideways and 1 px vertical
  • The last → first step is as smooth as every other step

How to use

  1. Hit Run tool, then drop a PNG sprite (or try the demo tree)
  2. Pick strength (1–3 px), frame count and FPS. Shuffle wind rolls a new gust
  3. Download: GIF, sprite sheet + Aseprite JSON (with a wind tag for Godot, Unity or Aseprite), or a ZIP of single frames

Free, no sign-up, no watermark on your own sprites. Only the demo tree is marked.
